So what's been happening in the Webformatique world?

Well we have been working really hard on a brand new product code named RM2... so what's so special about RM2? well it's not just another Reservation System.

RM2 is a flexible framework based on the latest web technologies such as:-
 

• Zend Framework
• MySQL Innodb
• ExtJS JS Libraries

This system will provide a rock solid platform to build any reservation system. Featuring a modular design and full developer API and XML interfaces. It will also support your favorite CMS's such as Joomla 1.5 (native), WordPress and Drupal. Using a connector design we are able to integrate with any PHP based CMS and offer full functionality of the base CMS.

On the 1st September 'the unveiling' of this application will take place and we will be releasing exciting news on the release and developer only previews. So follow us on twitter or watch our website for news on this exciting product.

RM2 is really very unique and promises to be a world class reservation system for any level of business from a single rental to an enterprise level application.
 

The Joomla Extensions Directory

You may have heard that the JED (Joomla Extensions Directory) has banned non GPL extensions.

Unfortunatly this means that all commercial extensions are no longer allowed to be listed there. It's a sad day for Joomla as this inevitably means less professional extensions available in this directory.
 
However there are many new directory listing sites, such as http://extensions.ijoomla.com/ for commercial extensions online now to take the place of the JED, but this is a shame for Joomla that the people that control Joomla have decided to do this as it no longer means a single place to find the desired extension solution.

Twitter and Getting Updates

I have been asked recently why customers don't get email notifications when an upgrade is available, well we now post all upgrades and news to twitter. And only send out major update nofications when we release a major version release. So if you would like to receive regular updates, promo information and news on RM2 follow us on twitter.
 

Site Design Services

About a year ago, we started the Webformatique design service. This is a "one-stop-shop" where we basically setup the whole site including the chosen reservation system. I am very pleased to say this part of our business works very well providing a streamlined delivery of our existing products.
 
We take customers ideas designs and turn these around into a full reservation website very quickly. Customers have provided some great feedback and we have several returning customers that use this service reguarly.
